Apple flavoured pipe

Having a pipe at a cafe, tea house with the locals. You drink chay ( tea) , no milk in small glass cup with no handle on an small saucer and smoke a water pipe which is one of many flavours-apple, strawberry , cappuccino, banana- no it’s not an illegal substance! Charcoals on top of the tin foil which contains something, not sure what though. We tried it and then the owner of the cafe came over and instructed us on what to do. We must have looked like real novices and tourists. You have to puff and puff until the glass bowl fills with smoke, you are not supposed to inhale, and then somehow you get the smoke to bellow out from your mouth and or nose. Nice taste, besides the smoke and in amongst the coughing and laughing! The Turkish people, men mainly, partake in this with other males, relaxing, chatting, sipping tea and watching TV or playing board games. It seems to me that the men have all the fun in this culture!
