We arrive Friday to be collected at the train station at Coustance by the owner of Le Castel John Barnsley. A very pleasant friendly Brit. ex journalist for a London newspaper ,News of the World, who has been here for 8 years and taking on people from "work away" ( the web site we used to secure this 'work' ) for 2 years after a marriage break up from Nick ( male) 18 months ago. He made a decision based the limited availability of suitable people to employ and the high taxes in France, to access people to stay and work in lieu of accommodation and food using the Work Away scheme. By all accounts it has generally works well for him.
We head for the supermarket to purchase supplies. The wine is 1.5 euro's at the cheapest and champagne 5 euros! Wow. 10 pastries for 2 euros! Heaven !
