Savigny cathedral. One afternoon off we headed off on the bikes to cycle around the local area and explore. Up hill and down, on very poorly maintained bikes , mine more than Marks. We came across this amazing church in a very small village. ( the post on the blog with the cemetery was outside this church )Frescoes inside the church which were recently discovered and restored. The top one is the last supper and the one underneath a 6 part story: The Saint Barbara cycle . A young woman called Saint Barbara who converted to Christianity who was saved from death by the sword of her father by divine intervention . The last scene was missing and added during the restoration process .
