Dancing in the Monsoon Rain
It is just about the end of the Monsoon season here in Nepal. Last night- 6th , it bucketed down until the streets were flooding and the depth of water was up to you knees in places .
On leaving the food hall where we had eaten just 50-100 metres from our 'hotel', we had to push past the rickshaw obstructing the doorway hoping to get some business ( he put his brakes on when Mark tried to push him away and a very persistent woman trying to sell purses. The street seller was grabbing my arm insisting I buy one and she buy one! Her face tort and eyes inflamed ! Eventually I escaped and waded down the street, dodging the cars and motor bikes which had come to a complete stand still , unable to drive. Outside the hotel Deutsch it was knee deep ( see photos) and there were barricades to stop the water entering the lobby - unsuccessful .
