When I arrived in Gulmi - Tamghas , Ganga informed me that she had contacted the radio station ( this is the main means of communication in the districts) advising locals with disabilities that they could come to the centre to see an Occupational Therapist who would be in the district for 2 weeks.
Shock, horror! I have no idea what to expect , let alone what, if anything I will be able to offer! Nothing like being thrown in the deep end.
There is no Occupational therapy training in Nepal and the very few Occupational Therapists working here are generally trained in India. From speaking with the Kedar the physiotherapist at the centre and one of the local Dr's at the hospital there is little understanding of what we do.
