Tiger comes to visit Resort -I dont think she wanted a room for the night .

Unlike my blog on Dear Zoo, this tiger is very real , alive and not stuffed !
Just before we arrived in Sauraha a Bengal tiger was spotted in the garden of the resort around the corner from where we were staying. Understandably it caused quite in commotion as they have been known to attack people, so everyone was rushing around . These photos were taken by Arun . The tiger was apparently injured and had come out of the jungle in search of food . Eventually with government permission, it was darted and taken to a zoo for treatment. The Bengal tigers were nearly extinct a few years ago due to being game hunting and locals shooting them for money. They are now protected , even tranquillizing them is risky to their survival so all care is taken to keep them alive. Sita shared a very sad story about how her friend’s father who lives in her village which is on the perimeter of the park was out one night and was attacked by a tiger . Unfortunately he did not survive the attack . As a consequence of this the Tiger had to be found and relocated to a zoo as once they taste human flesh they then always hunt for this. For this very reason Sita informed us that it was not safe to go out at night in her village.
